The Kerim Bey hammam (Turkish bath) is located near the Chinar tree and the primary school Gjorgi Sugarev in Bitola. Although it is not known when it is was built, this double amam is considered to be the oldest hammam in Bitola. The hammam was available to the various ethnic groups who lived in Bitola until the 70s of the 20th century.
The hammams (Turkish baths) had an important role in cultures in the Balkans as places for social communication and their creators were quite good and famous architects. These were places where different ethnicities from Bitola were hanging out, entertained and completely relaxed taking care of their personal hygiene and health.
