Around the Clock Tower until the mid-20th century there was the so-called Pekmez Bazaar. Some of the buildings that were in the immediate vicinity of the Clock Tower are displayed on the old photo from 1916-17, during the First World War. The new photo shows the same location photographed in 2017.
