Capari is a mountain village 15 km away from Bitola, on the slopes of Baba Mountain at an altitude of 1,010 meters. “Caparski” or “Vistinski Vir” (transl. The Real Pool) is located in the upper part of the village.
The initiative for arranging the pool started in 2015 when a wall was added to the old natural pool, which significantly increased the bathing area, and also the surrounding area was arranged with benches and bridges for easier access to the other side of the river.
The residents from Capari village say this is a pool only for “real men” and that only a few are able to withstand the cold water of the Caparska River even in summer. It is interesting to note that the Holy Cross is thrown at this place in the winter during the Christian holiday of Epiphany.
